Background

For the research or commercial production of an agricultural plant commodity where pesticides are used

Pesticide handlers must receive pesticide safety training before they handle pesticides and
Field workers must receive pesticide safety training before they enter a treated field.
A qualified trainer must conduct this safety training. Persons that complete a DPR-approved program are authorized by DPR to train:
- Pesticide handler trainers; and
- Field worker trainers.

This document describes the qualifications needed to become a DPR-approved T2 instructor and the criteria used to approve a written T2 program that the instructor wishes to use to train trainers of pesticide handlers and field workers.
