Delayed Implementation of Active Ingredient Workload Assignments

On August 4, 2023, the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) issued California Notice 2023-09, “Changes to Pesticide Registration Branch Workload Assignments and Upcoming Webinar on August 23, 2023.” This notice informed stakeholders the Pesticide Registration Branch (PRB) will be implementing Regulatory Scientist (RS) workload assignment changes for all new product registration and amendment applications in two phases. PRB implemented phase 1, RS team-based assignments, on September 18, 2023. California Notice 2023-09 states phase 2, active ingredient (AI)-based team workload assignments, will be implemented on January 1, 2024.
