Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium, Volume 8 – Guidelines for Interpreting Pesticide Laws, Regulations, and Labeling
The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) has finalized Volume 8, Guidelines for Interpreting Pesticide Laws, Regulations, and Labeling, one of eight volumes forming the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. This reference contains DPR approved interpretations of various pesticide laws, regulations, and pesticide labeling. It replaces and supersedes the Procedural Guidance for Pesticide Enforcement Personnel.
Guidelines for Interpreting Pesticide Laws, Regulations, and Labeling is cross-indexed by subject and code section of the law or regulation addressed. Please have your staff begin using this reference immediately.
This volume is available for immediate download from DPR’s web site at www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_8/pestlaw.htm. It will be available on a CD and distributed to county agricultural commissioners in June 2009 with a hardcopy of this letter.
The revised reference is issued by DPR as part of its statutory responsibility to assist in planning and developing county programs in areas including uniformity, training and coordination, and to provide direction for implementing the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program.
Changes to this volume, in the form of new or revised policies or interpretations, will be issued in the form of updates to the Compendium. County agricultural commissioners will be notified of revisions via an enforcement letter. Updates will appear on DPR’s Guidelines for Interpreting Pesticide Laws, Regulations, and Labeling Web site at: www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_8/pestlaw.htm. Suggestions for any corrections or other changes should be made to DPR’s Enforcement Branch.
If you have any questions, please contact the Enforcement Branch Liaison assigned to your county.
Sincerely,
