Employer and Business Pesticide Use Compliance Guide
The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) developed the enclosed Pesticide Use Compliance Guide for Businesses and Employers to describe responsibilities of users, pest control businesses, and employers of handlers and fieldworkers.
When the Worker Health and Safety Branch revised their Pesticide Safety Information Sheets (PSIS) to be more accessible to workers and employees, they discontinued PSIS A-6 and N-6, which had provided information to employers, trainers, and businesses. The Enforcement Branch took the lead to develop the enclosed document as a replacement for these two PSIS information sheets. The guide also contains several forms (training in English and Spanish, exposure records, medical supervision, authorized representative and application-specific information) that employers need to comply with California pesticide laws and regulations.
DPR is providing this guide for businesses and employers as part of our ongoing commitment to improve compliance with pesticide laws and regulations and promote safe and responsible use of pesticides in California. Note the first page of the document has a space for adding County Agricultural Commissioner (CAC) contact information to allow use of the document as an outreach tool by CACs.
If you have any questions, please contact your Enforcement Branch Liaison.
Sincerely,
Enclosures
