Employer Contracting with Employee to Wash Coveralls
It has come to the Department of Pesticide Regulation´s (DPR) attention that some employers are contracting with employees to wash coveralls which are considered personal protective equipment.
The enclosed interpretation of regulations regarding laundering of employee coveralls updates and supercedes DPR´s guidance “Employees Laundering Coveralls” found on page 120 in the Manual of Procedural Guidelines for Pesticide Enforcement Personnel.
As these types of issues and questions arise, DPR will review and update existing guidance for Pesticide Enforcement personnel for insertion into a volume of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium.
If you have any further questions regarding this issue, please contact the Enforcement Branch Liaison assigned to your county.
Sincerely,
Enclosures
