Fiscal Year 2003/04 Marketplace Surveillance Program
The Department of Pesticide Regulation’s (DPR’s) Enforcement Branch will not be contracting out sample collection for the Marketplace Surveillance Program in fiscal year 2003/04. The proposed funding level for fiscal year 2003/04 will reduce the monitoring program to the smallest level in program history. It is estimated that approximately 380 samples will be collected.
The Enforcement Branch, Medical Toxicology Branch’s Health Assessment Section, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture Laboratory Services are working to maintain the scope of the program with funds that remain. The primary focus will be to monitor compliance with pesticide laws and ensure that detected pesticide residues are within the established tolerance levels.
DPR sincerely appreciates your past participation in helping us modernize our Pesticide Residue Program. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact me at (916) 324-4100.
Sincerely,
