Pesticide Use Reporting by Vector Control Agencies
A question has been raised regarding responsibility for data entry and reporting of pesticide use for vector control to the Department of Pesticide Regulation.
Under the 1995 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DPR, the Department of Health Services (DHS), and the County Agricultural Commissioners and Sealers Association, all pesticide use reports for vector control are to be submitted to the counties using the Monthly Summary Use Report Form (PR-ENF-060, Rev. 4/92). This includes pesticide use reports for applications made by vector control districts that have entered into cooperative agreements with DHS. This change became effective November 1995 as outlined in Enforcement Letter 1995-062, dated November 9, 1995. The current MOU is available on DPR´s web site at www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/enf_auth.htm.
Vector control pesticide use reports should be data entered as part of your routine pesticide use reporting program and electronically sent to DPR with your county´s use report files.
The Vector-Borne Disease Section, Division of Communicable Disease Control, has been transferred from DHS to the new Department of Public Health effective July 1, 2007. They are drafting revisions to the 1995 MOU to reflect their transfer to DPH and to update other non-substantive changes as necessary. They are coordinating the MOU review and approval through Mr. Earl McPhail for County Agricultural Commissioners and Sealers Association.
If you have questions, please contact your Enforcement Branch Liaison.
Sincerely,
