Rovral Fungicide Air and Ground Labels
The Department of Pesticide Regulation’s Pesticide Enforcement Branch was recently notified that there are legally registered new and old Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company Rovral Fungicide pesticide products in the channels of trade bearing label statements that allow for ground and air applications and some that allow for ground applications only. Please be advised that it is not legal to mix and apply products that have different label statements.
The following Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company Rovral Fungicide products bear the following label statements:
Rovral Fungicide U.S. EPA Registration No. 264-482 allows for air and ground applications. This is a liquid flowable product.
Rovral Fungicide U.S. EPA Registration No. 264-453 is an older product that allows for air and ground applications. Newer products bearing U.S. EPA Registration No. 264-453 do not allow for aerial applications. According to Rhone-Poulenc, this is a wettable powder formulation. Newer products, bearing labels restricting aerial applications, are available in five-pound bags only. The older product comes in two-pound bags.
The pesticide registrant, Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company has been notified of our findings. We have on file a letter dated October 6, 1999, from Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company indicating their request for a label change to remove aerial applications from the wettable powder formulation of Rovral Fungicide, U.S. EPA Registration No. 264-453. Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company will notify distributors and end-users of this label change and inform them to follow label directions depending on product of use.
