Structural Regulatory Training – Basic Level

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and the Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) will be providing Structural Regulatory Training (SRT), (Basic Level) in Dublin, California from June 10-12, 2015.

In October 2014, Structural Regulatory Training (Basic Level) was held in Irvine, California for County Agricultural Commissioner (CAC) staff based in the southern portion of the state. This year’s training is being offered in Dublin for CAC staff in the northern and central portions of the state.

Structural regulatory training is provided in accordance with Business and Professions Code §8616 which requires DPR and the SPCB to jointly develop a training program specifically relating to the various aspects of structural pest control for CAC staff involved in structural pest control investigations and enforcement.

TRAINING DATES: June 10 through June 12, 2015.

TIME: Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on June 10. Training is from: 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

  • Field Training Demonstrations: On June 11, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Center (Scenario Village), East County Animal Shelter, corner of 4595 Gleason Dr. and Barnett Blvd., Dublin, CA 94568. Sessions will end at this location at 3:30 p.m.

Reimbursement:

DPR will not be reimbursing CAC staff attending Structural Regulatory Training for lodging, meals, tolls, mileage, etc.

Registration Information:

Structural Regulatory Training – Basic Level is intended for:

  1. CAC staff licensed or overseen by staff licensed in Pesticide Regulation or Investigation & Environmental Monitoring and who have never attended a DPR/SPCB sponsored structural regulatory training; or
  2. CAC staff licensed as above needing refresher training due to limited experience in structural use monitoring inspections or structural pest control business headquarters inspections.

Should CAC staff requesting to attend Structural Regulatory Training exceed space limits, staff in category (A) above will be given priority.

DPR recognizes that participants commuting daily to attend training face traffic congestion and personal time commitments; however, in consideration for others, participants are asked to attend each day of the 3-day structural regulatory training. Participants failing to attend the complete course will not receive a certificate of completion.
