Structural Regulatory Training – Basic Level

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and the Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) will be providing Structural Regulatory Training (SRT), BASIC LEVEL in Irvine, from October 28-30, 2014.

In October, 2013, Structural Regulatory Training (Basic Level) was held in Dublin, California for County Agricultural Commissioner (CAC) based in the northern portion of the state. This year’s training is being offered in Irvine for CAC staff in the southern and central portions of the state.

Structural regulatory training is provided in accordance with Business and Professions Code §8616 which requires DPR and the SPCB to jointly develop a training program specifically relating to the various aspects of structural pest control for CAC staff involved in structural pest control investigations and enforcement.

TRAINING DATES: October 28 through October 30, 2014.

TIME: Registration begins at 8 a.m. on October 28. Training runs from: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Training Locations:

  1. Classroom Training: October 28-30. Each day begins at the Atrium Hotel. Atrium Hotel, 18700 MacArthur Blvd., Irvine, CA 92612.
  2. Field Demonstrations: Afternoons of October 29-30. Session ends at the Center at 3:30. University of California South Coast Research & Extension Center, 7601 Irvine Blvd., Irvine, CA 92618

Reimbursement:

DPR will not reimburse CAC staff attending Structural Regulatory Training.

Registration Information:

  1. CAC staff licensed or overseen by staff licensed in Pesticide Regulation or Investigation & Environmental Monitoring and who have never attended a DPR/SPCB sponsored structural regulatory training; or
  2. CAC staff licensed as above needing refresher training due to limited experience in structural use monitoring inspections or structural pest control business headquarters inspections.

Should CAC staff request to attend Structural Regulatory Training exceed space limits, staff in category (A) above will be given priority; other factors such as a CAC’s activity level in structural inspections may be considered, if necessary.

CACs who have not already registered are asked to complete the attached registration form and send to Roberta Jetter: by October 15, 2014.
