Structural Regulatory Training – Basic Level, Irvine

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and the Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB) are providing basic level Structural Regulatory Training (SRT) in Southern California, September 10-12, 2024. This Basic SRT is for CAC pesticide program staff who conduct structural pest control inspections or investigations. Counties have received an email from DPR listing their pre-approved attendees. Space is limited to the 85 approved attendees, with priority given to PUE licensed staff who are new to the structural program that have not attended this training. Any substitutions to approved county attendees must be submitted to Beth Boss at beth.boss@cdpr.ca.gov.

Training Dates, Times, and Locations:

Training is from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m on Thursday. Classroom registration (sign-in) begins at 7:45 a.m. on September 10, 2024.

Training and Session Registration Information:

Each approved attendee must register online by August 23, 2024. Completing this registration does not constitute approval to attend, county staff not approved to attend will be added to the waiting list.

Hotel Reservation:

Hotel room reservation deadline is August 23, 2024. The hotel room rate is $149/night plus applicable taxes at the Atrium Hotel, Irvine, California, 92612. Overnight parking is $14.00 per vehicle, per day. Commuter parking validation will be provided. Reservations for the hotel can be made at the Atrium Hotel website.

No Reimbursement:

DPR will not reimburse for lodging, meals, overnight parking, tolls, mileage, etc. However, counties not able to send staff to the training due to financial hardship are encouraged to contact Beth Boss at beth.boss@cdpr.ca.gov or at 916-603-7747.

Training Preparation for Participants:

We encourage all attendees to bring their county CalPEATS tablets to this training. If you do not have a tablet, the printed copies of the inspection forms in the binder will suffice for the purposes of this training.

We highly recommend that participants review the following before this training:

  • Volume 4, Inspection Procedures Manual Chapters 1, 7, 8, and 10.
  • Current registered labeling for Vikane (EPA # 1015-78) and Zythor (EPA # 81824-1)
