Updated Instructions for the Data Evaluation Project – Submitting Inspection Forms with Monthly Report 5

The enclosed document explains changes in requirements to submit county inspections with the monthly Pesticide Regulatory Activities Monthly Report (Report 5) to the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) for the Data Evaluation Project. These changes were discussed at each county agricultural commissioner (CAC) area group meeting this fall and at the Pesticide Regulatory Affairs Committee meeting at the 2002 Winter Conference.

In summary, all counties will submit copies of the five inspection forms along with the monthly Report 5, effective January 1, 2003. The 12 counties participating in the Revised Inspection Forms Pilot Project will continue to submit all forms along with Report 5.

Use of the revised inspection forms for all counties becomes effective July 1, 2003. With the exception of the Pesticide Pre-Application Site Inspections (Pre-Apps), all new forms are to be submitted along with Report 5 beginning July 1, 2003.

The duration of the data evaluation project is expected to run through the end of fiscal year 2003/04. A determination to continue the project will be made prior to the end of that fiscal year.

DPR plans to provide CACs with their inspection summary reports on a quarterly basis beginning in April 2003.
