Updates to Compendium Vol. 2, Laws and Regulations
This letter announces the availability of and summarizes updates to Volume 2, Laws and Regulations, of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium.
A table of sections changed in Volume 2 is enclosed. An updated Compendium Volume 2 will be available on the CalPEATS Help Resources page.
Title 3 California Code of Regulations (3 CCR) Updates
Neonicotinoid Pesticide Exposure Protection. New food and feed use production agricultural application method and rate restrictions, application timing restrictions, and seasonal application rate caps based on crop group for clothianidin, dinotefuran, imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam active ingredients to protect pollinator health.
Groundwater Spelling. Non-substantive amendments to update the spelling of “ground water” to “groundwater.”
Certification and Training. Align California’s regulations pertaining to certification of commercial and private pesticide applicators, development and implementation of continuing education for pesticide applicator license or certificate renewal, and supervision of non-certified applicators with the revised federal regulations in Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 171.
Spray Adjuvant Labeling. Establish California registration ingredient statement requirements to identify principal functioning agents for new and amended California registered spray adjuvant product labels.
1,3-Dichloropropene. Updated general requirements, updated field fumigation methods, addition of approved totally impermeable film (TIF) tarpaulins, addition of fumigation methods, addition of annual report, addition of use report requirement for field soil fumigations.
