Updates to Compendium Volume 1

This letter announces the availability of, and summarizes updates and revisions to, Volume 1, General Administration of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program, of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Updates are enclosed and will also be available online. Please have your staff begin using the updated chapter as soon as possible.

Highlights of the revisions to Volume 1 Chapter 3 include:

• Section numbers have been modified to allow for easier reference.
• Changes to incorporate new or changed laws, regulations; or determinations since the Volume was issued. For example:
  • Clarified guidance on many topics, such as biological control agents, management firms, and maintenance gardeners. Updates to the quick reference charts.
  • Section 3.5 on pest control pilots has been updated to incorporate changes on manned and unmanned pilots and unmanned vector control technician pilots, and information on Assembly Bill 1016 (Jones-Sawyer, Statues of 2023).
  • Updated information and guidance on the Department’s applicator categories to be consistent with the Certification and Training rulemaking and other resources.
