Updates to Compendium Volume 2, Laws and Regulations

This letter announces the availability of and summarizes updates to Volume 2, I, of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Replacement pages and a table summarizing the changes are enclosed.

• Pesticide Use Near Schoolsites: Effective January 1, 2018, Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations (3CCR) was amended to adopt new regulations for pesticide use near schoolsites.
• Worker Safety Revisions: Effective March 1, 2018, Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations (3CCR) was amended with additional worker safety training requirements to ensure continued equivalency of California regulations with the recently revised federal Worker Protection Standard (WPS).

Other Revisions

• Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations: includes updates regarding Copper-Based Antifouling Paint and Coating Products, and other typographical errors;
• California Food and Agriculture Code: amends sections pertaining to operating an unmanned aircraft without a valid pest control aircraft pilot certificate and also amends a section on violations concerning cheating on licensing examinations;
• Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations: includes updates regarding applications for licensing and certification, and updates to relevant application forms: Adds language preventing the structural pest control board from issuing registration to a company who has had a registration previously surrendered, and other typographical errors;
• Business and Professions Code: updated to include specifications to the complaint process and also extends the date for the structural fumigation enforcement oversight program.
