Updates to Compendium Volume 2, Laws and Regulations, Including Updated Worker Safety Regulations

This letter announces the availability of and summarizes updates to Volume 2, Laws and Regulations, of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Replacement pages and a table summarizing the changes are enclosed.

Worker Safety Revisions: Effective January 2, 2017, Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations (3CCR) was amended with additional worker safety requirements to ensure continued equivalency of California regulations with the recently revised federal Worker Protection Standard (WPS).

Other Revisions: Also included in this update are changes to 3CCR about dealer and broker possession and sales of restricted materials; Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations concerning structural license renewal and structural fumigation disclosure requirements; updates to the Business and Professions Code with additional requirements of qualifying managers, clarifying employing unlicensed individuals, and revising the structural administrative actions that can be taken against employers and employees for personal protective equipment violations; and updates to the Health and Safety Code concerning reporting changes in the medical supervision program.
