Updates to Volume 3, Restricted Materials and Permitting, Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium
This letter announces the availability of, and summarizes updates to, Volume 3, Restricted Materials and Permitting, one of eight volumes of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Updates are enclosed and are also available online at the link provided below. Please have your staff begin using these updates as soon as possible. Hard copies of the updates will not be distributed.
To print the revised portions of the manual, select from the enclosures or go to www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_8/pestlaw.htm. It is recommended the sections be printed back-to-back, where applicable. Remove the old sections from the manual and insert the new sections:
- Compendium Overview
- Rewritten – provides a brief overview of all eight volumes.
- Table of Contents
- Updated Appendix E only
- Appendix B, California Restricted Materials Requirements:
- Format change only
- Appendix E, Understanding California’s Definitions of Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Use Pest Control:
- Moved to Compendium Volume 8, Guidelines for Interpreting Pesticide Laws, Regulations, and Labeling, Chapter 1, Section 1.1
- New title: Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Pest Control Use
- Available at www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_8/pestlaw.htm.
Please note: this update also contains changes to the format of the documents that should provide for easier reading and reference. These changes include:
- Table of Contents will no longer be updated after each revision-only if necessary (such as changes to titles or page numbers).
- Updates no longer have a bar in the margin.
- Page(s) will be dated for the month in which they are revised. This change allows the reader to know if they have the most recent version; revision date can be compared against the Restricted Materials and Permitting Updates Replacement Page Instructions.
We hope these changes are beneficial and make for easier use of this Volume.
If you have any questions, please contact the Enforcement Branch Liaison assigned to your county.
Sincerely,
Enclosures
