Updates to Volume 4, Inspection Procedures, Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium

This letter announces an updated version of Volume 4, Inspection Procedures, of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Due to extensive reformatting to Volume 4, the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will be sending new copies of the Compendium to each county. The updated volume is also available online at the link provided below: www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_4/inspect_procedures.htm.

The most recent update (enclosed) includes the following changes:

1. Page 38 – Added code references to “Written Recommendation Requested/Provided” block.
2. Pages 49, 50, 53, 54, 56, 57, 171, 180,181 and 206 – Amended to reflect changes in the following regulations: 3CCR § 6618, 6619, 6761.1, 6770 and 6771.
3. Page 75 – Amended exemption to “Closed System Used/Meets Criteria”.
4. Pages 180 and 211 – Corrected statement that handler training records require the time of training.
5. Page 246 – Corrected “Voluntary respirator provisions” block to add 3CCR § 6739(r) display requirement when the respirator is supplied by the employer.

To request copies of Volume 4 of the Compendium, please email Scott Benson at sbenson@cdpr.ca.gov and include the number of copies each county agricultural commissioner office will require. Please send your request by June 15, 2010.
