Notice of Extension to the Public Comment Period on the Proposed Decision to Begin Reevaluation of Diphacinone and Public Report

Pursuant to Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations sections 6220, 6253, and 6254, the Director of the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) proposed to begin reevaluation of pesticide products containing active ingredients diphacinone and diphacinone sodium salt (diphacinone) based on potential significant adverse impacts to non-target wildlife likely to occur from diphacinone use. DPR stated that it would accept comments until Monday, June 19, 2023, on the proposed reevaluation. On June 5, 2023, DPR received a letter from the Rodenticide Task Force requesting a 60-day extension to the comment deadline based on “the diversity of products, issues, and use patterns involved…” In response, DPR is extending the public comment period 30-days. Public comments on the proposed decision will now be accepted up to and including Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
