STRUCTURAL PEST CONTROL TRAINING |
||
The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) has scheduled structural pest control training in the Bay area from June 11, 2002, through June 13, 2002. The training is a cooperative effort of DPR's Enforcement Branch, the structural pest control board (SPCB), and the California Agricultural Commissioners and Sealers Association. The Business and Professions Code section 8616 states that no disciplinary action by a county agricultural commissioner (CAC) may be taken in the structural pest control enforcement program against a licensee of the SPCB until training has been completed. Therefore, DPR has scheduled basic training for new CAC staff. This training will cover the same topics presented in last year's training, so we highly encourage counties to send new biologists to this year's event. The site and dates for the training are as follows: Alameda County Radisson Hotel We have reserved 70 rooms at the rate of $140.00 per room per day if reservations are made by May 25, 2002, at the Radisson Hotel for this training. Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservation. To get the discounted rate, please tell the hotel clerk that you will be attending "County Structural Training." Travel and per diem expenses will be reimbursed by DPR according to the guidelines outlined in ENF 00-037. In order to facilitate the planning process, please contact the senior pesticide use specialist serving your county with the names of your attendees and their level of experience in structural pest control no later than May 25, 2002. |
