Chief Deputy Director Chris Reardon describes how staff monitor runoff in urban areas during
inclement weather to collect data that support DPR's proposed surface water regulations.
APCAC MEETING SCHEDULED
Our Agricultural Pest Control Advisory Committee will meet today -- Thursday,
Nov. 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Sacramento. Agenda items include an update on non-fumigant volatile
organic compound mitigation proposals, an update on licensing and a discussion on the upcoming
Alliance Grant solicitation process.
PREC MEETING SCHEDULED
Our Pesticide Registration and Evaluation Committee will meet on Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. in
Sacramento. The meeting will be Webcast. The agenda includes a discussion on the new CalAg Permits
process, an update on non-fumigant volatile organic compound mitigation proposals and a
presentation on proposed surface water protection regulations.
ANNUAL VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND (VOC) EMISSIONS FROM PESTICIDES REPORT RELEASED
Jan. 3, 2012, is the deadline for
public comments on pesticide emissions from 1990-2010 for five areas of the state that do not
meet federal air quality standards.
LICENSE RENEWAL SEASON
If the first letter of your surname or business name starts with a letter from M-Z, it is
recommended that renewal packets be submitted no later than
Nov. 19, 2011, if the updated license is needed by Jan. 1, 2012. Renewal forms have been mailed to
licensees and also are available at DPR's Licensing and Certification Program website.
ALLIANCE GRANT PRESENTATIONS POSTED
Presentations of three Alliance Grant projects given at the Nov. 10 meeting of our Pest Management Advisory Committee have been posted. The presentations include "successes, challenges and next steps" for IPM Continuing Education for Maintenance Gardeners, San Luis Obispo County Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures; Healthy Homes Alliance, Physicians for Social Responsibility - Los Angeles; and IPM for Bedding and Container Color Plants, University of California, Davis, Department of Entomology.
